Four Months

Staring
Standing
On the cold bathroom
Tile
Searching the face
In the mirror
For what has
Changed
The years
Have been kind
But something has
Changed
The face is
Familiar
But it is not
True
Staring
Searching
The mirror
Has not
Lied
The face
Is not the same
Four months
Time
Is all it took
Four months
For it all to change
Eyes dark with
Shadow
Muscles forgotten how
To smile
Life has washed
Away
Joy remains
Walled
Behind the veil
And you
Simply Exist

  2. ugh...four months is all it takes...i like how you dont really define what happened there and just give us the time frame..other than that it changed everything...and i hope too the joy can find its way...

  3. The sadness and lifeless demeanour, staring back at yourself in the mirror during these 4 months ~ I am imagining what happened to cause the shadows and despair ~ Very nice share ~

  4. There are things that can change us totally in the way you say, and the mirror can be brutally honest... 4 months can be a lifetime.. Hope for change to the better

  5. Happiness can be fleeting, sadness too. Four months time feels like a lifetime but is only a chapter in life. Many happy times are to come; maybe it will only take four months time. :)
